Be You: Brains, Bodies & Beyond, an LLRW Enterprises concept, is launching a new event on August 28, 2016 in Houston for girls ages 11 to 14 and their parents or guardians.

Be You is an important event for both girls and parents. Our goal is to help take away some of the mystery and uncertainty in the change girls experience growing from a tween to a teen.

Be You Girls is a special event aimed taking the mystery and uncertainty out of being a teenager! Be You Girls provide educational information on the developing teenage brain, body image, self-care, and self-respect. Offering breakout sessions to girls and their caretakers, the workshops include sessions targeted to each audience with real and valuable information they need to know about this time in girls’ lives. Be You Girls will serve this market in a way that brings real benefit to families during this emotionally charged period of growth.

The speakers for the event include Dr. Hillary Boswell, an adolescent gynecologist, Shayna Barksdale, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Rabbi Samantha Kahn, who will be speaking on the importance of staying to true to ourselves as we grow and experience more and more independence. Sponsored by the Houston Therapy for Girls, Dessert Gallery, Me2 Beauty Bar, and Rec Room, the first Be You: Brains, Bodies & Beyond will be held at Rec Room HTX, 100 Jackson St., Houston 77002, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit the Be You conference website at http://www.BeYouGirls.com for more information on the event, the speakers, and sponsors.
