The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians to Host Annual Convention with focus on Diversity and Innovation in Health Care
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 21, 2016 -- The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) will host its 31st Annual Convention & Exhibition at the Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort in Salt Lake City, July 27-30. Licensed naturopathic physicians (NDs) and those in the naturopathic therapies community will unite to learn more about evidence-based researching, strengthening the naturopathic profession, and safely expanding scope of practice.
The AANP president, Jaclyn Chasse, ND, stated, “This year’s program focuses on diversity and innovation. The Convention is a platform for knowledge-sharing that is absolutely unparalleled in integrative medicine at this time. We have secured in-depth presentations on oncology, pediatrics, women’s health, practice management, and pain management. These presentations are in high-demand this year. The field is transitioning. Not only is our focus on healing the whole patient, but we want to ensure there is considerable focus on bringing in noteworthy speakers, as well as significantly increasing continuing education credits. The majority of CE credits meet states’ requirements for pharmacology credits.”
A highly anticipated session this year includes a half-day Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) workshop, led by expert physician Steven Sandberg-Lewis, ND. Dr. Sandberg-Lewis will review common disorders of gastrointestinal motility, including post-infectious IBS, impacts of adhesions and connective tissue disorders, and the consequences of these disorders.
Another highlight of the Convention is Garrett Gunderson, New York Times best-selling author and financial guru. Gunderson is slated to address actionable items that will improve business practices - decreasing financial stress, and replacing it with financial clarity. Annual Convention Co-chair Trevor Holly Cates, ND, stated, “I’ve in fact taken some of Garret’s guidance to heart with my own endeavors. His talk will be extremely helpful in demonstrating how to make small adjustments that will quickly yield big outcomes for physicians who operate their own practice.
On the heels of the Annual Convention, the AANP will host its first Fun and Wellness for the Whole Family, a public wellness event, July 30, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The health fair features family-friendly activities that focus on health and wellness. Activities include family yoga sessions, a live cooking demonstration and nutritional tips, and interactive wellness talks by experts in the field.
Media coverage is open to the press Wednesday, July 27 – Saturday, July 30. Media Registration
