Securly, Inc. – the world's leading cloud-based provider of Internet security for K-12 schools – today announced that they have opened up their presence in the nation’s 2nd largest market for EdTech with a win in Texas’s McAllen ISD (28,000 students).
Says Patricio Karr (District CTO), “When we talk to vendors, we don’t ask them - ‘Do you have a cloud offering?’ We instead, ask - ‘What does your cloud offering look like?’” After evaluating various vendors, the District determined that Securly was the best fit for their web filtering needs.
The District already advocates for a number of innovative EdTech initiatives in Southern Texas; they will start sending Securly generated e-mail reports on student activity to parents come Fall 2016. “In today’s mobile environment, keeping our students safe is of the utmost importance. This applies to use within the brick and mortar of school district facilities or outside in the public cyber wilderness. Many products attempt to provide a solution but none come closer to what schools need than that of Securly ... Coupled with their parent portal, Securly provides an inclusive filtering and reporting solution for all stakeholders,” says Karr.
