Cutter Associates Announces Autumn 2016 Research Topics
Boston, MA (PRWEB) July 22, 2016 -- This autumn, Cutter Associates, LLC will present their latest research on topics critical to the investment management industry. The three topics—Managing Fintech, Mastering Client/Account/Product Data, and Risk Management Systems—were chosen with input from the members of the CutterResearch community, made up of more than 6,000 senior managers and professionals from over 220 leading investment firms around the world.
Cutter’s research on Managing Fintech will explore new technologies with the greatest potential impact on investment management, including machine learning or cognitive computing, big data solutions, and distributed ledger technologies (blockchain). The research will also focus on helping investment managers decide which tools are the most worthwhile investments for their unique requirements.
Since December 2015, when Bloomberg announced their surprise purchase of Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Solutions (BRAIS), many firms are taking a long, hard look at their existing risk management practices and technology solutions. Cutter’s research on Risk Management Systems will explore members’ existing risk management practices, and will include an evaluation of stand-alone technology solutions that can help members better manage their market and credit risk.
CutterResearch members are looking for ways to improve the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of their client, account, and product data. Facing challenges collecting, validating, and distributing these types of data, they are working to optimize their processes and master the ways they govern and manage these domains. Cutter’s research on Mastering Client/Account/Product Data will cover industry trends influencing member requirements for these data types. The research will also explore member practices and best practices, such as using data dictionaries, data hierarchies, and strong data governance. And it will deliver detailed evaluations of technology solutions that can help investment managers master these domains.
The research will be presented at Cutter’s autumn meetings held in London on October 13, in New York on October 27, and in Boston on November 17 and 18.
