Within the pages of Eileen Cundiff Poche’s new book, Jesus: My Heart’s Desire, ($10.99, paperback, 9781628398359; $5.99, e-book, 9781628398366) readers will find beautiful, heartfelt poems – encouraging them that even in the midst of life’s devastating pain and shattered dreams, they can run to God’s wide open arms – trusting His goodness when all is dark around them. Eileen Cundiff Poche knows heartache. Many of the poems in this book were written during her troubled marriage that sadly ended in a divorce. These poems were once again encouragement to her when tragically, her 23-year-old son, John, committed suicide. She relied on her Heavenly Father’s strength to make it through the hard times of life – living for the day when she finally sees God face-to-face.
“I want God's Word to become more precious to the readers through these poems on praise and worship, prayer, hope, encouragement and heaven,” states the author. “I want the poems to bring alive the Scripture that is quoted after each one so they will find comfort and joy through them. When the foundation of our lives is Jesus Christ, we will be able to not only survive the storms of our lives but to find hope/confidence in Him, even in the darkest days of our lives. If we build on a firm foundation we know it will remain, even if the most precious things in our lives are swept away.”
Eileen Cundiff Poche currently lives in Rockwood, TN. She is a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Harriman, TN, where she teaches the fourth through sixth grade Sunday school class, works with the T&T group in the AWANA program at her church, and serves as co-director of the Children’s Church program. She has also written several Christmas plays that have been performed in her church. She works as a private-duty nurse. She has a passion to see people saved and memorizing the life-changing verses of the Bible, several of which she has put to music along with many of her poems. In all that she does, her desire is to bring praise and glory to Jesus Christ.
