Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood will officially welcome Soapy Joe’s Car Wash Chief Executive Officer Lorens Attisha and Executive Vice President Brian Sheena to his city with a ribbon cutting ceremony, as they celebrate the grand opening of Oceanside’s first eco-friendly self service car wash on Wednesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. The festivities will also include music, food, giveaways, and a raffle. Food will be provided by the Food Junkies food truck, and Weinerschnitzel will be in attendance to hand out ice cream coupons.

“We’re honored to open our newest Soapy Joe’s Car Wash for our customers in Oceanside – especially the military community,” says Attisha. “As a family-oriented business, we are dedicated to serving our local communities and giving back to support their charities and other nonprofit organizations.”

Soapy Joe’s eight car wash locations throughout San Diego County feature state-of-the-art water recycling systems that reclaim 20 gallons of the 30 used per wash. Those 30 gallons are still only about one-fifth of the 140 gallons generally used when washing vehicles at home.

They only use cleaning products that are pH balanced to a neutral state during the washing process, while the dirt rinsed from cars is processed by facilities that convert it to beneficial materials such as potting soil or fertilizer.

Sustainability and conserving water have always been top priorities for Soapy Joe’s, according to Attisha. In honor of their efforts, San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer recently proclaimed April 21st as ‘Soapy Joe’s Car Wash Day’ for their commitment to environmentally friendly innovations.

Soapy Joe’s is well known throughout the San Diego area for its express, self service car wash system. In a mere 3 minutes, vehicles travel through the wash tunnel and come out washed, rinsed, waxed, tires shined and wind-dried. Customers can then use industrial-strength vacuums and microfiber towels to finish their vehicles. Soapy Joe’s also offers oil changes, plus monthly and annual Car Wash Club memberships that feature unlimited washes and other perks.

Thanks to its success and requests from countless happy customers, corporate leadership is currently working on strategies to expand their operations. Plans are in development to open more Soapy Joe’s Car Wash facilities throughout the county.
