Gate Precast Co. Augments Jacksonville Design Staff
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- Gate Precast Co. has strengthened its Southeast Region Engineering Department by filling two essential positions – Mukarim Syed PE has been hired as a new engineering manager and Lucas Suarez EIT as a new EIT (Engineer in Training).
An accomplished, seasoned and detail-oriented structural engineer, Syed has 18 years of experience in managing and delivering multi-million-dollar precast projects, as well as a track record of providing effective engineering and project management solutions.
“The time was right to expand the Jacksonville engineering department due to the market demand for structural precast right now,” said Steve Brock, Gate’s senior vice president, engineering. “The Jacksonville office already had a strong nucleus of BIM and drafting personnel. These additions increase Gate’s design staff to now include (30) structural engineers.” Mukarim and Lucas came available at the right time and we expect them to be a perfect fit for our team.”
Tom Newton, vice president, operations, said the engineering additions will enable Gate to have more control over the design process. “With this additional engineering capacity, we can better respond to our customers’ needs, particularly during the pre-construction phase of projects,” Newton added. “The vast majority of our work is from repeat customers who are confident the design assistance/collaboration approach offered by our in-house engineers, drafters and project managers will help maximize the performance, value and quality of the projects from early schematic phase to final Owner occupancy.”
By augmenting its engineering staff, Gate will have the talent necessary for completing a growing number of projects across the region. The company’s portfolio of current and recent projects is impressive, and includes the following projects: Collegetown Parking Garage, Tallahassee, FL; UCF Global Expansion Parking Garage, Orlando, FL; Flagler College Parking Garage, St. Augustine, FL; and Downtown Urban PS8 Parking Garage, Orlando, FL.
Gate Precast Co.’s Jacksonville plant provides prestressed concrete products for bridges, parking garages, total precast dormitories, stadiums and building structures throughout Florida. The company manufactures bridge girders, piling, double tees, columns, beams, wall panels and hollow core slabs in its 85-acre facility.
