Jason Abel, a 21-year employee at PDQ Manufacturing, Inc., has been promoted to the position of Engineering Manager. During his tenure with the firm he has held several positions in PDQ’s Engineering Department, most recently as Senior Product Engineer.
In his new post, Jason is responsible for all aspects of engineering design and development, engineering the manufacturing process, and delivering engineering support to the sales team and PDQ end users.
He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He joined PDQ immediately following graduation. Throughout his career, Jason has been involved in the design and development of many of the company’s innovative door hardware products, assembly fixtures and equipment. He has also overseen maintenance and improvements in and around our facility.
Jason was instrumental in leading development of an innovative and highly significant school security product, the PDQ Intruder lock with red indicator light. He is named on the recently issued U.S. patent No. 9,187,928 for the Intruder Lock.
“Few veterans of the security industry can claim Jason’s depth of experience,” said PDQ President Bill Tell. “His engineering talent at the product design and development level is more than matched by his knowledge and background in manufacturing processes.
