It is a tremendous honor to join fellow teenagers in standing up against destructive and harmful behavior that affects us all at some point in our lives, no matter who we are.

The Great American NO BULL Challenge (http://www.NoBull.org) has spent the past five years since its inception in 2011 addressing head-on the ever growing social challenges teens are facing in America. The grassroots movement has made great inroads in support of those issues, and today, is announcing teen model, actress and author, Makaila Nichols, as the organization’s National Ambassador.

“I’m ecstatic to bring Makaila into our NO BULL family,” said Shawn Edgington, founder of The Great American NO BULL Challenge. “There’s no other Organization like ours that does what we do, like we do it… which is the same for Makaila. She is a ‘Unique.’ Her mission lines up perfectly with ours. NO BULL is proud of her, and what she stands for.”

Nichols, who is 18 and originally from Buffalo, NY, will be actively involved in reaching and interacting with students across America as a Champion of Change in her role as National Ambassador for The Great American NO BULL Challenge.

“It is a tremendous honor to join fellow teenagers in standing up against destructive and harmful behavior that affects us all at some point in our lives, no matter who we are,” Nichols said. “I have experienced bullying in my own life, and I hope our team will be able to make a significant difference that affects a chain reaction in our society."

Nichols (http://www.makailanichols.com) started her modeling career at age 14, when she signed with a respected agency and began juggling her time for school, modeling, a budding acting career, and now, her new-found passion for writing. Now represented by ONE Model Management, Makaila splits her time between New York City, Los Angeles and Windermere, FL, where she attends the University of Central Florida. Although her life has been anything but ordinary, she faces many of the same challenges as other teens. In her debut book, Blatantly Honest: Normal Teen/Abnormal Life (Brown Books Publishing Group, October 2016), she hopes to reach other young people by sharing her insights and advice on how to handle common teenage problems such as friends, dating, sex and bullying.

Edgington formed The Great American NO BULL Challenge as a concerned mother of a teenage daughter who had experienced devastating bullying through social media. What she created is a focused effort to build leadership skills among teens, raising awareness and inspiring positive social action through short video documentaries and PSAs that students write and produce about important issues affecting today’s youth, such as bullying, violence, drug/alcohol abuse, LGBT, suicide, obesity, inequality and more.

The Great American NO BULL Challenge encourages students to say NO BULL to any issue and share their stories through video, social media and personally on school campuses. Video uploads for the 2016/2017 No Bull Challenge begin October 10, 2016.
