About Maria Velazquez:
Maria Velazquez came to New York for a two-week stay in early 2007, fell in love with the bustling city, earned her real estate license, and never looked back. With over 10 years in the business, Maria Velazquez has both onsite sales experience and a vast background in buyer investors at new developments. As a longtime resident of the city's Financial District, she quickly rose to be one of the most recognizable and distinguished downtown real estate agents. Fluent in Spanish and English, Velazquez proudly serves an international client base by traveling frequently to South America to bring Manhattan to the world. She shares her knowledge by conducting seminars and participating in exhibitions in Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and Spain to educate her colleagues and clients alike. In 2014, Maria launched The Velazquez-Lorber team formerly known as the SLS Team with her partner Michael, to properly service her clients in all areas of the market.
A native of Colombia, Maria moved to Miami at age 17 to pursue a culinary career. She holds an associate degree in dietetics from Miami Dade College and a culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales University. Furthering her education, she also has a bachelor of arts degree in restaurant management at Florida International University. As a certified sommelier, Velazquez pursues her love for travel, good food, and wine in her free time. She is a true foodie and restaurant aficionado.
