Reynolds Business Journalism Week Fellowships Available
(PRWEB) August 05, 2016 -- Business journalists and journalism educators are invited to apply for fellowships to take part in the 11th annual Reynolds Business Journalism Week at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism will select 24 fellows for the training, which will cover how to find and cover business angles in any story and where to find economic and financial data. In addition, sessions will focus on reporting community business stories, covering start-ups and what the new administration in Washington will mean to businesses large and small.
Reynolds Week will take place Jan. 4-6, 2017, at the Cronkite School’s state-of-the-art building in downtown Phoenix. It is supported by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, which covers tuition, hotel and most meals for participants. Fellows or their companies are expected to provide only travel to and from Phoenix.
Andrew Leckey, president of the Reynolds Center and Reynolds Endowed Chair in Business Journalism at the Cronkite School, said the training has made a difference to hundreds of business journalists and those who teach business journalism over the past 11 years.
“The quality of the previous Reynolds fellows and the work they do after attending Reynolds Business Journalism Week has played a role in improving the level of both reporting and teaching about money,” said Leckey. “Meeting with the incoming fellows and learning beside them is an exhilarating experience.”
Applicants must submit a statement of interest and a letter of support from their supervising editor or dean.
