Gerrit Albert, an experienced executive whose real estate skill sets encompass all aspects of project development, sales and marketing, club and golf management, and operational leadership, has been named Division President – Coastal South of LStar Management, a privately held real estate investment firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Gerrit has over 15 years experience in leading master planned communities including having been General Manager of Palmetto Bluff, where he oversaw all aspects of the community ranging from hotel management, resort amenities, golf course management to real estate sales. Gerrit has prior experience with a variety of other leading organizations such as Reed Development, Toll Brothers, and The Branigar Organization. He has served as Vice Chair of the Urban Land Institute Recreational Development Blue Council and holds real estate licenses in Georgia and South Carolina.

As Division President – Coastal South, Gerrit will lead the operations of one of the South’s premier master planned communities, Savannah Quarters, a 2,600-acre development located 12 miles west of Savannah, Georgia.

A native of Savannah, Gerrit earned an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University, where he was in Beta Gamma Sigma and a B.A. from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

Prior to joining LStar Communities, Gerrit was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Hargray, a telecommunications provider based on Hilton Head Island. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s residential and business sales, marketing, customer services, and community relations activities.
