Primo Connect, a global communications company incubated by Ultra Mobile, has selected SIP and WebRTC technology solutions from Ingate® Systems to support its video and voice functionality for Primo, a soon to launch over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging service. The integration allows customers to use web access and mobile apps for smartphones, tablets and desktops to make free and low-cost calls, to any mobile, landline or primo user globally.
Primo Connect uses its own proprietary apps developed for iOS and Android, with Amazon for Kindle coming soon, that combines ordinary phone calls with WebRTC-based video, messaging, SMS and file-sharing with HD voice. Users receive calls and SMS messaging to other Primo users at no cost, minutes to call to mobile or landlines in more than 30+ destinations at no cost, as well as low cost calling to more than 200 international destinations. Users can earn additional free minutes with sign-up, monthly anniversaries and referrals, among other benefits of joining the service.
Ingate’s WebRTC & SIP Companion including the Ingate SIParator® SBC has been scaled up to handle hundreds of thousands of users and tens of thousands of calls per WebRTC & SIP Companion, serving as the central equipment by routing calls and integrating both signaling and media with the telephone network. The Companion features the WebRTC-SIP gateway, dual name and DID number registrar and the well-known Ingate SBC – the SIParator. It also includes advanced Ingate technologies for media routing and conversions, NAT-traversal technology, handover and roaming of calls across all networks. Primo Connect, is then able to interface with Ultra Mobile’s many SIP trunking and gateway partners worldwide, a network which can now be leveraged to grow the Primo Connect service.
