Liz Kolar, CPA, CGMA, CPA Review educator and founder of Surgent CPA Review, and Valerie Wendt, Vice President of Product Development for Surgent CPA Review, have been selected to help educate future Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) at the Annual Meeting of the Beta Alpha Psi International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals. This annual event opens this year on August 4th in Baltimore, Maryland.
The theme for this year’s meeting is “Unleash Our Potential,” and Surgent CPA Review’s expert speakers have crafted targeted educational presentations to help students achieve that goal. The event’s theme embodies Beta Alpha Psi's spirit of encouraging scholastic and professional excellence, and providing opportunities for growth and leadership development. “This mission aligns perfectly with what the Surgent CPA Review team wants for our students. We want them to achieve their dreams of becoming CPAs, while making the process as efficient and engaging as possible,” said Kolar.
Kolar’s presentation, entitled “What to Expect on the New 2017 CPA Exam,” will help attendees prepare for the major content and structure changes coming to the CPA Exam starting on April 1, 2017. She will walk attendees through sample questions, including the new Document Review Simulation (DRS) question type. She will also share tips and strategies on how to pass the CPA Exam in significantly less time than nationwide averages. Wendt’s presentation, entitled “Social Media – Be Smart About It!” will provide practical advice for CPA candidates on how to effectively use social media to advance their career—while ensuring they understand the relevant professional etiquette guidelines.
Both Kolar and Wendt will also be available to speak with students 1-on-1 at the Surgent CPA Review exhibitor booth about their presentation topics, as well as the advanced features of the online Surgent CPA Review course that helps students save as much as 400 hours of study time. Students will also have the opportunity to spin a wheel to win prizes throughout the day -- including discounts on the Surgent CPA Review course and a wide selection of popular electronic devices.
