Anaheim to Host 4th Annual International Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conference with Kaiser Permanente Clinicians at the Forefront of the Food as Medicine Movement
Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) August 02, 2016 -- The International Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conference will present its 4th annual CME accredited event September 21-24, 2016 at the Anaheim Marriott, in Anaheim, California. A reflection of the growing food as medicine movement, this year’s event is on track to draw as many as 800 medical practitioners, with a strong representation of Kaiser Permanente physicians and allied health professionals.
“I’ve attended the last two Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conferences and can’t wait for the September event,” said Steve Lawenda, MD of Kaiser’s Southern California Region. “If you attend one medical education event this year, let this be the one. Having experienced the profound impact of plant-based nutrition in my own life, I’ve incorporated it into my practice. I ran a pilot late last year with 15 of my patients, focused on optimal dietary lifestyle; it resulted in an 80% decrease in medication use. As physicians, it’s our obligation to convey this powerful option to our patients.”
The conference faculty features an impressive line-up of prominent voices, representing the foremost experts whose research and leadership are at the forefront of the preventive, nutritional medicine movement.
“Three years ago we held out first conference in Naples, Florida with 200 in attendance,” said Conference Co-founder Scott Stoll, MD. “Now, three years later, we anticipate as many as four times that number from well over a dozen countries, demonstrating that healthcare professionals from around the world are awakening to the efficacy of whole food, plant-based nutrition. It’s inspiring to see KP providers helping to lead the charge.”
Stoll emphasizes that, “It’s not only the growth of the conference, but, throughout the year, the stories we hear from attendees of the remarkable changes they’re seeing in their own practices—stories of disease reversal and lives changed. Tens of thousands of patients are being impacted as medical professionals leave the meeting, forever changed, and begin implementing food as medicine into their practices.”
The International Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conference is produced by The Plantrician Project, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to producing educational events, tools and resources for physicians, healthcare practitioners and those they serve. Having launched PlantBasedDocs.com earlier this year, The Plantrician Project is also meeting the needs of its constituency with the new Culinary Rx nutrition literacy and plant-based cooking online course and the Plant-based Nutrition Quick Start Guide, now available as a patient education resource in both English and Spanish.
