At the fifth annual Provenue Exchange conference, nominee Groupmatics was declared the recipient of the 2016 Innovator of the Year award. After a year of rolling out new features for their online ticketing platform, Groupmatics' return to the Provenue Exchange was a celebration of these new developments, receiving recognition alongside two other distinguished nominees, the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals. The conference, held in Scottsdale, Arizona this year, seeks to promote genuine peer-to-peer exchange in connecting various partners and recognize emerging technologies with the ticketing industry. As part of celebrating these rising successes and partnerships, presents an Innovator of the Year award as hosts of the PVEX conference.

On what this award means for Groupmatics, CEO and Founder Matt Mastrangelo said, "the biggest takeaway is validation for the hard work we’ve put into building a valuable product. Mastrangelo credited the company’s success not only to this valuable partnership but also to his growing team, whose members have extensive group sales backgrounds within professional sports organizations. "We’ve experienced the frustration felt by group leaders and group sales departments," said Mastrangelo. "Our software was built based on those real-life experiences. Following the recognition for this year’s accomplishments, Groupmatics is continuing to develop new APIs for their software with renewed understanding of industry problems.
