Survalent ONE™ SCADA Commissioned by Yampa Valley Electric Association
Brampton, Ontario (PRWEB) August 02, 2016 -- Survalent Technology, a leading provider of ADMS systems, announced that Yampa Valley Electric Association (YVEA) has implemented the Survalent ONE™ SCADA system, and acquired its outage (OMS) and distribution (DMS) management software for future deployment. SCADA includes the SmartVU advanced graphical user interface, WebSurv and SurvCentral applications, enabling improved access to network information in control room and mobile environments.
For Yampa Valley Electric Association, providing dependable, low-cost electricity and high quality service to its customers in Northwest Colorado is vital. The new SCADA system provides YVEA with valuable real-time information for monitoring and controlling network resources, allowing faster responses to changing conditions, and greater power reliability. “We chose Survalent for our SCADA vendor because they provide the best value and support currently being offered,” said Jason Hall, Engineering Supervisor at Yampa Valley Electric Association. “Survalent has figured out the difficult and time consuming tasks for small companies and automated them, at a very reasonable cost. We toured other coops and utilities across Colorado and found a number of companies that agreed.”
The SCADA implementation is part of YVEA’s multiyear technology plan which includes significant investment in AMI and communications infrastructure. Once implemented, Survalent’s outage management and distribution management components, will be fully integrated with SCADA as an ADMS system on a single platform. The DMS component, including FLISR1 and VVO2 applications, will deliver operational automation, boost energy efficiency, and contribute to reduced outage times.
“Survalent support has been amazing,” said Jason Hall. “We no longer wait for days or weeks for responses to our problems. The support staff is attentive and responsive. The IED wizard saved us a huge amount of time while getting the system started. We are proud to have partnered with Survalent as our SCADA vendor.”
“Yampa Valley Electric Association is being quite progressive in taking steps to improve its network and customer service,” stated Edward Kobeszka, Regional Vice-president at Survalent Technology. “Survalent ONETM SCADA delivers provides the network performance visibility they need, which builds operational efficiency and service reliability. They can share more information with their members – faster. As this long-term project advances to include OMS and DMS, YVEA customers will see even greater value.”
