Watch for a plastic surgery discussion with Dr. Camille Cash, who practices in Houston, on the August 20 'Check This Out' program airing on KTRK.

Dr. Camille Cash (http://www.camillecashmd.com), a plastic surgery specialist in Houston, shares her expertise on body contouring and medical spa treatments in an upcoming segment featured on the popular "Check This Out" news program, airing on the local ABC affiliate, KTRK.

"I appreciate the opportunity to help educate the community about the latest advances in plastic surgery and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures," Dr. Cash says. "Interest in aesthetic surgery is increasing, and it's more important than ever to provide accurate information about its potential benefits, as well as its limitations."

Dr. Cash is frequently sought for her expertise by both local and national media. The upcoming "Check This Out" appearance, scheduled to air August 20, is her fourth on KTRK programs. During the segment, titled "Fall Fun," Dr. Cash will discuss med spa services, including 2 injectable treatments popular with patients: RADIESSE®, a dermal filler, and KYBELLA®, which reduces the appearance of a double chin.

A mother of 3 children, Dr. Cash will also talk about "mommy makeover" procedures such as tummy tuck surgery. The Houston surgeon says the tummy tuck is popular among mothers because it helps restore confidence in their bodies after the abdominal skin is stretched by pregnancy.

"Even active moms who work out regularly and are in good shape are hesitant to wear bikinis or other clothes that might reveal their midsections," Dr. Cash says. "That's because the abdominal skin often loses its elasticity after being stretched by pregnancy, and no amount of exercise can help."

One of the primary worries tummy tuck patients have is scarring, Dr. Cash says. A tummy tuck incision stretches from hip to hip, but is made low enough that it can be concealed by a bikini bottom. She also says advanced scar prevention treatments greatly reduce the chances of having a raised, very visible scar.

"I use a medical product called embrace®, which is clinically proven to improve wound healing for cosmetic surgery patients," Dr. Cash says. "It's a scar prevention system that shields a closed incision and reduces tension, which is the primary reason that scars develop."

On the program, Dr. Cash will also talk about how RADIESSE can help restore a more youthful appearance to your hands, which is where the earliest signs of aging often appear. She'll also discuss KYBELLA, sometimes called "the double chin shot," which was the first nonsurgical treatment approved by the FDA to reduce fat below the chin.

"There are many exciting advances being made in the aesthetic field," Dr. Cash says. "It's one of the reasons I love my work, and I enjoy being able to share this information with our community."
