MP for Reading East, Mr. Rob Wilson visited IT delivery and services company, Hunter Macdonald, to discuss their significant growth over the past 3 years, both in the UK and internationally.

Reading is a great location for an IT services business due to its road, air and rail links, and close proximity to London.

Rob Wilson, the MP for Reading East visited Hunter Macdonald - IT delivery and services specialists on 8th July 2016, to discuss their phenomenal growth over the past 3 years.

Hunter Macdonald was founded on the basis that traditional suppliers are increasingly unable to flex to meet the demands of FTSE 100 companies and the public sector. Their ethos focuses on developing partnerships with clients, being transparent, flexible and maintaining the ability to react to changes in the marketplace quickly and innovatively. Most importantly, they offer fixed price IT services, which is a significant point for those working within the public sector looking for reassurances that ambitious projects will be delivered to the right quality level while budgets are being reduced.

Mr. Wilson was keen to meet with one of Hunter Macdonald’s Senior Partners, Mark Ward, to discuss the company’s rapid expansion over the past 3 years. They now have 2 offices in Reading town centre, a further 3 offices in the UK, as well as 3 international locations in the USA and Vietnam. Also in attendance were Hunter Macdonald Partner, Chris Spence and Marketing Director, Elwyn Shelley.

The visit included a discussion about Reading’s position as a major hub for IT businesses in the South. Mr. Wilson was pleased to learn that Hunter Macdonald is committed to attracting and developing young IT professionals, thus contributing to Reading’s future success.

Following the visit, Mark Ward commented that:

“It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Wilson and a testament to Hunter Macdonald’s continuing achievements that he was keen to learn about the high quality work we do here for both the public and private sector.”

He continued: “Reading is a great location for an IT services business due to its road, air and rail links, and close proximity to London. Additionally, the highly skilled and diverse talent pool we have here in Reading has helped us to grow rapidly over the past 3 years.”

As well being recognised as having some of the best technologists in the UK, their success has been attributed to their willingness to share risk with their clients and work on a true fixed price and outcome basis.
