To be recognized as an ‘Innovator’ by Inman, one of the true trailblazing organizations in our industry, is a great honor.

Chicago-based @properties, the largest independent real estate brokerage firm in Illinois, was named “Most Innovative Brokerage” at the 2016 Inman Innovator Awards, held August 4 in San Francisco. Inman, a real estate information and media company, based in Emeryville, Calif., produces the annual awards program to recognize and celebrate the most innovative companies in the real estate industry.

@properties was among 21 national finalists in the Most Innovative Brokerage category. Other award categories recognized the most innovative technology, agent, non-brokerage real estate company, marketing campaign and MLS or association. One winner and two runner ups were chosen for each category.

“To be recognized as an ‘Innovator’ by Inman, one of the true trailblazing organizations in our industry, is a great honor,” said Thad Wong, co-founder of @properties. “This award is a responsibility as much as it is an achievement. It’s a mandate to keep striving, keep evolving. Innovators must never be content.”

According to Wong and @properties co-founder Michael Golden, innovation is central to @properties’ continued growth and success.

“One of our core values is Improving Innovation. It summarizes a principle we live by every day,” said Golden. “We are constantly challenging ourselves to introduce new marketing initiatives and technologies that will better serve our brokers and clients, and raise the bar in our industry.”

Established in 2000 by Wong and Golden, @properties has grown into the largest residential brokerage firm in the city of Chicago and one of the top 11 residential brokerage firms in the U.S. by sales volume. Over the last few years, the firm has invested in and partnered with a number of local tech startups, including Yapmo, TurboAppeal and PointDrive, to develop products and services that are now used by thousands of real estate brokers and consumers both within and outside of @properties’ network.

“Inman Innovators are on the forefront of change in the industry,” said Brad Inman in a recent announcement. “By consistently asking what can be better about the industry and trying to make their dreams reality, they are pushing every one of us to view the industry using a different lens.”
