Year Up Greater Philadelphia Recognizes JPMorgan Chase and Lincoln Financial at Graduation Ceremony for Opportunity Youth
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 09, 2016 -- Celebrating the leadership of its corporate partners in creating pathways to employment for urban young adults, Year Up Greater Philadelphia recognized JPMorgan Chase with the Urban Empowerment Award and Lincoln Financial Group with the Corporate Champion Award at the Class Five graduation ceremony.
Year Up Greater Philadelphia is a yearlong workforce development program that provides urban young adults with six months of technical and professional training, followed by a six-month internship at top companies like Lincoln Financial and JPMorgan Chase.
“The Urban Empowerment Award recognizes the significant time and resources that JPMorgan Chase has dedicated to ensuring more urban young adults in the Greater Philadelphia area gain the skills and experience to launch an exciting career,” said Joseph Coyle, Executive Director of Year Up Greater Philadelphia.
JPMorgan Chase has hosted ten Year Up Greater Philadelphia interns since 2015.

Lincoln Financial Group has hosted three interns and hired their first graduate this year.

Year Up Greater Philadelphia launched in 2013 at Pierce College and has served more than 220 young adults to date, with its fifth class graduating on July 12, 2016. The program provides urban young adults (ages 18-24, without college degrees) with in-demand technical, professional and communication skills. Nationwide, 85 percent of Year Up graduates are employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the yearlong program, with an average starting salary of $37,000/year.
