NeoSpeech Inc., a leading Text-to-Speech provider, has expanded their line of languages with the release of two Cantonese Chinese Text-to-Speech voices. Kaho (male) and Kayan (female) join NeoSpeech’s ever-growing lineup of voices that now includes over 30 voices in 8 different languages.

Kaho and Kayan are able to process any length of text and synthesize it into incredibly realistic and natural sounding speech. Both come with a comprehensive customizable dictionary that enables users to customize Kaho's and Kayan's speech, and the ability to add industry-specific jargon or slang.

Kaho has smooth, calm, yet professional sounding voice. His friendly tone makes him perfect for eLearning, audio publishing, health care, customer service, and IVR call center solutions.

Kayan has a voice that’s perfect for business applications. Her clear and confident tone can be used in broadcasting, finance, transportation, and announcement systems.

As with all other NeoSpeech voices, Kaho and Kayan were made using the Unit Selection Synthesis (USS) technique. While this technique takes more time to develop, it is widely known to produce the highest quality and most natural sounding Text-to-Speech voices.

“We are proud of the effort we put into our new Cantonese Chinese voices,” said NeoSpeech CEO Devin Lee, “We can’t wait to see the impact Kaho and Kayan will make in our consumer’s products. We are certain that end-users are going to enjoy the high quality of these voices.”

Cantonese Chinese has been estimated to be spoken by about 80 million people worldwide. It is spoken vastly in parts of southern China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and in Hong Kong. Cantonese is also one of the most spoken Chinese varieties in North America, particularly the United States.

The Cantonese Chinese TTS engine is available for the Windows 32-bit platform, and will be available for Windows 64-bit, Linux, iOS, Android, and other operating systems in the coming weeks.
