The MetroHealth System Becomes Tech Laboratory for Hyland
Cleveland (PRWEB) August 10, 2016 -- Hyland and The MetroHealth System have formed an alliance program to benefit the health care industry. Areas of focus include administrative items like finance and billing, and also processes surrounding patient information and electronic health records.
Through the Alliance Program, Hyland will collaborate with MetroHealth clinicians and administrators to explore how its methods and processes can become more efficient. Hyland will use the information to develop new technology and create solutions to meet MetroHealth’s needs. Hyland will also evaluate how effective its software is being used and provide guidance on how MetroHealth can better utilize its products.
Additionally, MetroHealth will test new technology created by Hyland, helping the software company identify product enhancements. MetroHealth will become a site for showcasing the Hyland products it is utilizing, allowing consumers to see how software works within a health care system.
“The Alliance Program capitalizes on MetroHealth's nationally recognized expertise in utilizing new technology to improve care,” said Akram Boutros, MD, FACHE, president and CEO of MetroHealth. “The information sharing and software development we will pioneer with Hyland will help hospitals, nationwide, to work more efficiently and effectively, and ultimately benefit all patients.”
The collaboration highlights two Cleveland-based companies working together to impact healthcare technology on a global level.
“Hyland is excited to expand our longtime partnership with MetroHealth by standing up a program that will benefit the entirety of the health care technology industry,” said Bill Priemer, president and CEO of Hyland. “By creating a showcase for health care technology best practices, both organizations will yield results that can help effectively drive continuous enhancements to help deliver the highest level of patient care.”
Hyland and MetroHealth first started working together in 2004, with the use of the OnBase platform for electronic health information sharing. Since the collaboration started, MetroHealth has earned HIMSS Stage 7, an award representing the attainment of the highest level of an electronic medical record model, placing the health system in the top three percent of all hospitals and health care systems in the U.S. in terms of the completeness and use of its electronic medical records. In addition, MetroHealth recently earned the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence, which recognizes outstanding achievement of organizations who have utilized health IT to substantially improve patient outcomes while achieving return on investment.
