With a world-first Sequencing Notepad and great features for both yoga students and teachers, Ireland Digital's new app, YOGOJI, enables smartphone users to express their inner emoji guru, with over 400 yoga related, health and wellbeing emojis.

YOGOJI is excited to be serving a global market of 2 billion passionate Yogis, with technology's most flexible keyboard yet.

Australian company, Ireland Digital, today unveiled its new, yoga themed keyboard for smartphones, YOGOJI. The app includes more than 400 yoga, fitness, health and wellbeing emoji style icons, for use in texts or emails.

The app was inspired by Hip Hop Yoga, a popular offshoot of the ancient eastern practice. YOGOJI's creator, Heidi Ireland, used yoga to rehabilitate a serious back injury in 2011 and subsequently decided to train as a teacher. This brought a unique challenge to light.

“I was in teacher training and wanted to notate a pose sequence for class. The only options were to write out the names of each pose, or draw them. Neither was a workable solution. An app just seemed a natural fit,” Ms. Ireland said.

With YOGOJI, emoji nirvana is just a few taps away!

Serving a global market of 2 billion modern Yogis, tech's most flexible keyboard not only allows users to express their inner guru by customising texts and emails with yoga emojis, it also has features to help students and teachers deepen their practice:

  • Teachers and students can easily notate poses in the Sequencing Notepad, with just a few taps (the only app to currently offer this).
  • Recall of each pose's English and Sanskrit name is improved with an option to display their name.
  • Poses are grouped by category, enabling teachers and students to create silky smooth sequences of their own, for class use or home practice.

While YOGOJI may be a product of the digital age, its character is firmly rooted in timeless wisdom: “YOGOJI is all about bringing an attitude of creative playfulness to yoga and remembering not to take the practice so seriously that we forget to smile and be present in the moment.

“My aim is for YOGOJI to bring some lighthearted, creative ways for yoga devotees to communicate and connect with one another,” Ms. Ireland says.

The iOS version of YOGOJI is now available now on the App Store. An Android version is currently in development and will be released soon.
