SignUp's New Mobile-Enabled Interface and Faster Loading Times Drive Discovery of Local Library Events

SignUp event management software encourages stronger attendance at library events.

The ALA reports U.S. libraries collectively offer more than 4 million programs each year. SignUp will make it easier than ever for these libraries to connect with the patrons who inspire these events.

This month, Evanced launched a major upgrade to SignUp. The market-leading creator of web-enabled library services that streamline day-to-day management tasks developed the software to streamline library event scheduling and promotion for librarians and simplify event registration for patrons.

With SignUp, patrons can opt into receiving email notifications about upcoming library events. Patrons can then use SignUp’s newly mobile-enabled and fast-loading interface to register for events and pay registration fees, where necessary. Since SignUp integrates with library websites and is compatible with popular integrated library systems (ILSs), reminders about events will appear in multiple places, including on self-checkout screens, to maximize event attendance. After the event, the library will receive detailed reporting metrics that can be leveraged to show return on investment for events, increasing funding to support similar programming in the future.

“Google reports that there are over 60,000 searches for ‘things to do’ and over 160,000 searches for ‘local things to do’ each month,” said Mary Casey, Evanced's Marketing Director. “This is a great opportunity for libraries to step in and help searchers find the information that’s most relevant to them.”

“The ALA reports U.S. libraries collectively offer more than 4 million programs each year. SignUp will make it easier than ever for these libraries to connect with the patrons who inspire these events,” said Nedra Sadorf, Demco's President. “From technology boot camps to books on tap literary pub trivia, gardening and robot zoos, libraries offer amazing experiences for their patrons and SignUp ensures that this value doesn’t go unnoticed.”

Leading library supplier Demco acquired Evanced in 2011 and after becoming an affiliate of Boopsie, the leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, in 2015, combined Evanced with Boopsie to provide libraries with a streamlined library software solution. Together, Evanced and Boopsie help libraries innovate to provide patrons with the most relevant services that meet their unique needs.
