The Polaris Slingshot is Coming to Pete's Cycle Co.
Pasadena MD (PRWEB) August 16, 2016 -- The Slingshot is a three wheeled vehicle that falls under the new category of auto-cycle, and thanks to recent lobbying and the cooperation from the Maryland Department of Transportation, anyone who owns a Slingshot will legally be allowed to drive it on the highway.
The Slingshot was developed in the fall of 2015, but in some states it is illegal to take the Slingshot on the highway. Recently, the Maryland Department of Transportation passed a law that allows the Slingshot to be driven on the highway.
The Slingshot's open air design allows the driver and passenger to have the feeling of riding a traditional motorcycle, while also providing stability with three points of contact. The Slingshot has a 5 speed manual transmission with a reverse feature and is able to go from 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds and 0-100 in about 12 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. The Slingshot uses a longitudinally mounted GM Ecotec 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine giving it 173 horse power with 166 pound-feet of torque at a weight of less than 1800 pounds.
The Slingshot is great for anyone looking for both a smooth and exciting ride. Pete's Cycle Co. is currently the only dealer in Maryland selling the Slingshot.
The Slingshot will be available at Pete's Cycle Co. starting just after Labor Day at a starting price of $21,995 with upgraded features available. Pete's Cycle Co. is currently taking pre-orders for the Slingshot. To find out how you can get one, visit petescycle.com or call the store at 410-663-8556
