Wisconsin Company Seeks to Launch New Industry Within the $60 Billion U.S. Pet Care Market
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) August 11, 2016 -- Wisconsin-based startup Help2Pet has launched a first-of-its-kind service for pet owners that provides them with a vital tool to help manage all aspects of their pet’s care in cases of emergency. According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), pet care expenditures in the U.S. climbed to $60 billion in 2015, and are expected to rise even higher in the coming year.
Founder and CEO Jeff Kalish points out that most pet owners would do anything for their pets and could not bear the thought of their pets being neglected in their unplanned absence. “Sure we can put a sticker in our window or a card in our wallets but then what?” explains Kalish. “It’s just a sticker and card…not a plan. Stickers and wallet cards don’t explain the details surrounding our pet’s care. They don’t explain things like what my pet eats and when, where they may be hiding, medications or veterinary contacts.” He further explains.
Help2Pet is an online, membership-based service that stores all your pet’s vital info in one safe place. Members receive window clings, wallet cards, keychains and collar tags displaying the Help2Pet emergency hotline phone number and unique membership ID number, linking members to their pet’s information.
Kalish created Help2Pet to be a critical lifeline for pets to guarantee their safety and well-being in the event that pet parents are unable to return home, or stray pets are found. “Life throws us curve balls, from being stuck on a runway to being in a car or bike accident,” Kalish said. “As parents of pets we just can’t plan what is going to happen from day to day,” he continued.
The Help2Pet Response Team is standing by around the clock 365 days a year to personally
notify its members’ Emergency Pet Contacts (EPC’s) in the event of a crisis or a lost pet. Help2Pet also ensures that temporary care providers are equipped with each pet’s care plan so they are readied with the information they need to step in and effectively provide care.
“Sure my neighbor would be a great EPC but without my pet profile they would be hard pressed to know where my dog’s food was kept, how to administer medications and a whole lot more,” says Kalish. “If my dog is found by a good samaritan and I am not reachable, my neighbor can be notified to pick up my lost pup,” Kalish continued.
Help2Pet is also intended to be a resource for veterinarians, groomers, dog walkers and dog sitters. With all the pet’s information stored in one place, pet care becomes easier and more efficient for caretakers to ensure all the pets needs and special care instructions are being met.
“This isn’t pet insurance,” Kalish said. “Help2Pet is a backup plan; an ongoing resource that can be used frequently by caretakers and service providers to get the vital information they need when they need it. Now you have a way to plan for their future, and ensure that your love for your pet endures -- no matter what.”
“As hard as it can be to imagine life without our pets, it can be even harder to imagine their lives without us. If we truly love them, we must create a backup plan to ensure that our pets will receive the loving care that they need, whether we are there or not.” Kalish said. “Help2Pet is an easy and affordable way for pet owners to do just that.”
A one-year subscription costs $39.95 and covers one pet. Additional pets can be added for $1.99 each per year.
