SyncDog, Inc. Announces its SentinelSecure™ Containerized Mobile App Workspace has Achieved FIPS 140-2 Certification from NIST
Reston, VA (PRWEB) August 11, 2016 -- SyncDog, Inc., the leading ISV for mobile application containerization, today announced that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP) has validated SyncDog’s encryption engine inside the SentinelSecure™ application container as per Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2. The certification validates that the SyncDog mobile application container solution holds a cryptographic module with algorithms and key lengths that are in compliance with the requirements of NIST SP 800-131A. SP 800-131A is associated with the use of cryptography by Federal Government agencies for the protection of sensitive, but not classified information. Specifics of SP 800-131A address the use of algorithms and key lengths. SyncDog has leveraged its technology partnership with SafeLogic to deploy SafeLogic’s CryptoComply™ cryptographic engine for mobile devices and to fast-track the FIPS certification with SafeLogic’s RapidCert™ process, producing certificate #2687 in less than two months.
“We’re very pleased with how thorough and efficient SafeLogic was with NIST to help us achieve this FIPS 140-2 certification milestone for SyncDog,” said Jonas Gyllensvaan, SyncDog president, CEO and founder. “Our expectation was the standard 18-month timeframe to certify the module and Ray and his team were able to push it through in just seven weeks, truly remarkable.”
“Our past work with NIST and the testing lab’s familiarity with CryptoComply™ certainly helped to get SyncDog’s FIPS 140-2 certification completed so quickly,” said SafeLogic CEO Ray Potter. “The accelerated timeline of our RapidCert™ process is a huge competitive advantage in time-to-market and we are pleased to provide that expertise for SyncDog.”
The FIPS 140-2 validation represents an important milestone in SyncDog’s strategy to extend its reach deeper into the U.S. Fortune 1000 to customers in highly-regulated markets such as government, finance and healthcare; markets that demand the highest level of validated encryption. SyncDog’s cryptographic certification holds across all applications placed within the SentinelSecure™ containerized workspace, securing apps and data both at rest and in transit, including email, personal messaging, file management, Internet/Intranet browsing, connection to back-end systems and databases, geo-location apps, and also to mobile app development platforms housed inside the container.
The SentinelSecure™ containerized workspace provides a secure data platform that encrypts and transports data between the enterprise and secure, “sandboxed” applications running on employees’ mobile devices. The workspace protects client enterprise networks with a secure, partitioned FIPS 140-2 certified* container on both iOS and Android devices and secures data both at rest and in transit using AES 256-bit encryption.
