Signature Breads Honored to Receive B Corp™ Certification

Awarded by global non-profit organization B Lab, the distinction recognizes a business's adherence to rigorous standards of transparency and accountability, and its positive impact on social and environmental concerns.
Praised by Inc. magazine as “the highest standard for socially responsible business,” B Corp certification is granted only after careful evaluation of a company's business practices, services and products, its treatment of employees, and its impact on the community and environment. Just over 1,800 companies across 50 countries and 130 industries have earned the B Corp certification, including companies already well-known for social responsibility, such as Ben & Jerry’s and Patagonia.

Signature Breads was founded in 2006 as the result of an employee-buyout from a larger corporation. From their two bakeries in Chelsea, MA and Tempe, AZ, Signature Breads bakes over 100 varieties of baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia, and one-of-a-kind sandwich and dinner rolls for restaurants and supermarkets nationwide. They employ a diverse workforce of over 250 employees from over 17 countries, and hire up to nine language translators for company-wide meetings to ensure employees hear company news and announcements in their native languages. As a result of an unwavering commitment to every team member, Signature Breads' average employee tenure is now over 10 years.
