Mosaic United Announces Official Launch, First Major Project
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) August 12, 2016 -- Mosaic United announced today that it has unveiled its website and logo and chosen a new name. The enterprise, formerly known as the Israel-Diaspora Initiative, simultaneously announced that it is launching its first project, a series of grants to three international college campus organizations.
Mosaic United seeks to fuel, scale and connect the most impactful innovators, programs and philanthropists in the Jewish world to help strengthen Jewish identity in the Diaspora. In this first project, Hillel International, Chabad on Campus International and Olami will each be awarded more than $7 million in grants to support their ongoing efforts to engage Jewish students. These organizations will match the contribution 2:1, resulting in an overall impact of $66 million into Jewish life on campus over the next two years.
All three of these esteemed organizations have missions around engaging the college community and cultivating Jewish identity, and all have had recognized success. Mosaic United knows that infusing substantial funding into these campus initiatives will enhance their ability to engage more students on more campuses in deeper ways than ever before. The funds will be used specifically to scale programs centered on Jewish learning and engagement, including new talent initiatives and innovation.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Hillel, Chabad and Olami – three organizations with different and complementary approaches, all of which have proven very successful,” said Mosaic United CEO Amy Holtz. “We are certain that we can engage many more college students across the Diaspora in Jewish life, and build a stronger Jewish future.”
“We are proud to partner with Mosaic United as they seek to engage more Jewish students in deeper ways," said Eric D. Fingerhut, president and CEO of Hillel International. "It will provide new resources and opportunities for Hillel to further our vision of engaging every Jewish student to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel by strengthening our talent initiatives and expanding educational programs that help us engage more students."
Mosaic United receives one-third of its funding from the Government of Israel, with the remainder coming from philanthropists, foundations and other Jewish organizations.
