Valley Venture Mentors (VVM) Prepares for Growth
Springfield, MA (PRWEB) August 15, 2016 -- Scott Foster, President of Valley Venture Mentors Board of Directors, recently announced the appointment of Liz Roberts as VVM Chief Executive Officer and Paul Silva as Chief Innovation Officer. The move is designed to capitalize on the unique strengths of these VVM leadership team members as the organization prepares for significant growth.
According to Foster, “We’re taking the advice we offer our Accelerator graduates. As you shift into growth mode, solidify your organizational structure, maintain focus on creativity and innovation, and build a board of directors. We’re thrilled that Liz and Paul have stepped up and into the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Innovation Officer respectively.”
Roberts brings over a decade of leadership experience, both as Chief Strategy Officer at SX2 Media Labs and Associate Director at the Center for Women and Financial Independence at Smith College. Her previous role at VVM was General Manager of the highly successful Accelerator program. According to Roberts, “I am honored to assume the role of CEO. This is an extraordinary organization that empowers startups and has captured the interest of investors, donors, and potential strategic partners. Besides managing the day-to-day operations, I’ll be focused on building and strengthening these relationships.”
Paul Silva, VVM’s co-founder, has spent much of his career creating organizations and programs that provide support for startups. According to Silva, “Valley Venture Mentors has exceeded all of our expectations in its first five years. People are now seeking us out to create new programming. I’ll be able to focus entirely on innovation and creativity in this new role.”
As for building the board, Foster indicated there are a number of highly skilled individuals who are under consideration. New board members will be announced in the Fall.
