Kars4Kids awarded a $5,000 grant to Girls on the Run International through the Kars4Kids Small Grants program.

Dedicated to supporting youth and educational initiatives that align with Kars4Kids’ vision, the Kars4Kids Small Grants program allows Kars4Kids to broaden its impact across North America.

“As a national nonprofit organization running educational and youth programs across America, the small grant program allows us to expand our reach by recognizing and supporting like-minded charities which share our values,” says Ms. Wendy Kirwan, Director of Public Relations at Kars4Kids “We are very pleased with the opportunity to partner with Girls on the Run, an organization that works hard to inspire and empower young girls.”

As described in an interview with Kars4Kids, Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based development program for young girls that helps participants recognize their power and potential by focusing on personal development, team work, and contribution to the community. With over 200,000 participants across the country, the program combines dynamic discussions and activities to instill the value of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness at a young age.

Theresa Miller, Vice President of Partnerships and Development at Girls on the Run, was equally happy to partner with Kars4Kids. “We appreciate being the recipient of this grant from Kars4Kids, which will help move our mission of inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident,” says Ms. Miller.

The Girls on the Run grant is one of a dozen grants Kars4Kids has awarded this year so far. Other recent recipients include Science Camp of America in Hawaii, Chicago’s Gary Comer Youth Center, and TeenSharp, a college preparation program for low-income and minority students. Nonprofits wishing to receive a grant are encouraged to apply through http://www.kars4kidsgrants.org.
