9Lenses Releases Findings from its 2016 analysis ‘State of the Consulting Industry: The Impact of Digital Transformation”
Sterling, VA (PRWEB) August 17, 2016 -- 9Lenses Inc., a digital consulting platform that combines and digitizes data collection and management activities for consultants, announced the results of their recently concluded ‘State of the Consulting Industry’ interview.
“We are very excited to announce the results of the first phase of our digital interview. Our goal was to understand the impact of digital disruption on the consulting industry to better assist our clients, and I believe we’ve uncovered some fascinating insights,” said Edwin Miller, Chief Executive Officer of 9Lenses. “Digital disruption is a certainty; it has transformed and will continue to transform industries. Our platform was created to help digitally transform the consulting industry, and by using our software for this analysis, we want to help consultants manage this change better and stay ahead of the digital curve.”
The digital interview, which is the first of a four-part series, is aimed at providing consultants with data across organizational priorities including digital consulting, budget and spending, and staffing and talent. The goal is to provide timely information to management consultants during different stages of their organizations’ annual planning processes.
Three key findings from the study validated the trends that are being seen in the industry at large:
1. Client and Market Digitization - Firms are largely making surface-level changes in response to digital trends. The largest changes being made do not involve crucial elements such as technology, processes, or people but rather changes to value proposition and positioning in the market.
2. Lack of Technology and Management Buy-In - The biggest inhibitors to embracing a more digital process in consulting are management buy-in and lack of technology tools. Leadership and culture were overlooked when consultants were asked to define digital transformation.
3. Storage of Client Data in Non-Secure Channels – Firms continue to store data in non-secure work spaces like the company intranet and excel spreadsheets. Respondents indicated that nearly 30% of client data resides in spreadsheets.
