Singapore Power Selects Analytics Applications From Space-Time Insight
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) August 16, 2016 -- Space-Time Insight, the leading provider of situational intelligence solutions, today announced that Singapore Power has selected its Asset Intelligence and Outage Intelligence applications to enhance data-driven decisions for electric grid operations and planning. The applications package advanced analytics and intuitive visualizations of diverse data sets to help utilities reduce risk and improve service reliability.
Singapore Power, one of the largest corporations in Singapore, owns and operates electricity and gas transmission and distribution businesses in Singapore and Australia. Space-Time Insight and NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd are partners in Singapore Power’s “SPEAR (Singapore Power Energy Advanced Research & Development)” co-development project for energy network health analytics.
The applications will enable Singapore Power to:
• Increase the reliability and performance of their current asset portfolio by understanding asset health, criticality, and risk;
• Reduce operating costs through proactive maintenance based on predictive analytics;
• Optimize capital investments by deploying a risk-based methodology for asset planning;
• Perform predictive analysis of the impact of outages on SAIDI and SAIFI;
• Improve customer service by proactively detecting outages and enabling faster power restoration.
“SP CoE is committed to driving research and innovation that translates into a future-ready national grid. Analytics play an increasingly critical role in maintaining and enhancing Singapore Power’s world-class transmission and distribution services,” said Mr. Brandon Chia Seng Boon, Head, Centre of Excellence at Singapore Power. “Space-Time Insight and NEC provide the capability to analyse and predict when we need to reinforce and maintain our assets before they fail. This strengthens the reliability and resilience of our network, minimising disruption and inconvenience to our customers.”
“We are excited to be partnering with Singapore Power to drive increased grid reliability for their customers,” said Rob Massoudi, SVP Business Development of Space-Time Insight. "By providing a 360-degree understanding of their assets and situations that arise, our Asset Intelligence and Outage Intelligence will help Singapore Power mitigate the impact of aging assets and be more responsive to unplanned disruptions in service throughout the region."
Asset Intelligence and Outage Intelligence are part of a suite of situational intelligence applications for utilities designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
