Middie Lee Stetter, a country song-writer in his retirement, has completed his new book “Middie’s Memoirs: A Personal Journey of Discovery”: a thought-provoking collection of concerns and contemplations that the author has researched over the course of his life.
Stetter began to doubt the validity of his pious religious upbringing when at the age of twelve he became the provider for his family in the face of divorce. “(I was) bothered by (my) mother’s refrain, ‘God will provide for us,’ when in fact (I) was doing all the providing.” The research that he began on his search for the truth continued throughout the rest of his life, which he penned into this book.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Middie Lee Stetter’s compelling analysis provides a view point that is influenced by the aspects of his life, including his four year career with the Air Force and his birth during the Great Depression.
The topics that are covered in this book vary widely, encompassing many facets of human life within a society that has principles that are allegedly based on yet separate from religion. The unconstitutionality of imposing taxes on individuals is lamented in a verbatim account Stetter provides from a seminar he taught in 1985.
Stetter concludes with an impassioned argument for “secular humanism,” the lens through which his six-decade long research has drawn him to view life and his decisions therein.
Readers who wish to experience this informative work can purchase “Middie’s Memoirs: A Personal Journey of Discovery” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
