Prism Partners with CFDA to Provide Video Analytics for Emerging Fashion Designers
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) August 19, 2016 -- Prism and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced a new partnership that will give the Retail Lab, a CFDA curated store at Cadillac House and its designer partners full use of the Prism technology platform, which turns in-store video cameras into privacy-protected visual sensors that track and analyze shopper movement and behavior.
The Retail Lab is an immersive mentorship program that provides up-and-coming American designers with a first opportunity to create a brick-and-mortar experience of their own. Located in the Cadillac House in New York’s West SoHo, the Retail Lab will feature three-month rotations of designers, selected from a competitive application process, to share their collections in a space devoted exclusively to their work.
“Data is arguably one of the most important resources for an emerging brand,” said Mark Beckham, Business Director of Fashion Week for the CFDA. “By partnering with Prism for the Retail Lab, we’re making sure that our designers have the tools that they need to understand their growing businesses, and to be able to react and make changes when necessary.”
Under the partnership, Prism is deployed on six Axis M30 series cameras, which provide complete coverage of entryways, merchandise and store activity. Through Prism, Retail Lab designers and employees will be able to remotely view the Retail Lab and run comprehensive analytics to better understand store performance and customer engagement.
“The designers that have been selected by the CFDA to participate in the Retail Lab have the potential to be the next generation of fashion and business moguls,” said Bob Cutting, COO at Prism. “There’s no doubt that technology will play a key role in the success of their future brands, and we’re excited to be able to provide both the tools and the counsel to help them realize their vision.”
The Retail Lab officially opened its doors on July 15th, featuring inaugural designer Timo Weiland, who will showcase his namesake collection through the summer. Prism will provide training and consultation to each designer that exhibits in the Retail Lab, many of which, will be sharing their work in a brick-and-mortar retail space for the first time.
