I felt it was time to become part of the team that helps ensure our industry maintains its strength and position in the real estate business at large, especially in this time of regulatory uncertainty.

Alex A. Grundhoffer, senior vice president, Minnesota division manager for North American Title Co. (NATC), has been named to the Minnesota Land Title Association (MLTA) Board of Directors for a three-year term.
Grundhoffer has spent more than half of his life in the title industry, entering the profession at the age of 19 with NATC’s Minnesota predecessor, Title Protection, Inc. In his current position, he oversees operations for NATC’s 13 branches in Minnesota. He was instrumental in the company’s recent acquisition of Realstar Title, which substantially increased NATC’s coverage area in the state. Prior to his current position, he served as business development director for the NATC’s Minnesota division and before that served as escrow operations manager.
“Given my years of experience in the industry, I felt it was time to become part of the team that helps ensure our industry maintains its strength and position in the real estate business at large, especially in this time of regulatory uncertainty,” said Grundhoffer. “The title business has always been about the integrity of the people who serve in it, and the MLTA is about as good a team of people as you can find and has been throughout its history. I want to be a contributor to the organization as we seek to adapt what we do to the needs of the market into the future. Taking on a more active role within MLTA seems even more imperative now that NATC covers a larger portion of the state due to our recent acquisition.”
MLTA was formed in 1908 as a professional association interested in securing the integrity of land titles throughout the state of Minnesota. Its membership includes professionals who provide abstracts of title, title insurance and related services to the real estate and lending industries.
“I have spent a lot of time focusing on the many regulatory changes that have occurred since the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, how those changes impact the real estate closing process and how ultimately, it affects the way a title company must function to stay profitable in the new regulatory environment,” said Grundhoffer. “I am using this knowledge and experience to find ways to grow and expand our business in Minnesota, but also recognize that this expertise can be an asset to the entire industry in Minnesota, as I serve on the board in the coming years.”
Grundhoffer works out of NATC’s New Prague branch at 1301 1st Street NE, New Prague, MN 56071, telephone (952) 646-1260.
