Diamondback Drugs Receives Coveted Vet-VIPPS™ Accreditation by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®
(PRWEB) August 23, 2016 -- Diamondback Drugs, LLC, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, is proud to announce it has obtained Veterinary Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (Vet-VIPPS) accreditation by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Vet-VIPPS accredits pharmacies that dispense prescription drugs and devices for companion and non-food producing animals and provides assurances to consumers that they are purchasing drugs and devices from an online pharmacy that is properly licensed and complying with state and federal laws and regulations. Diamondback Drugs has been producing compounded medications exclusively for the veterinary market for 15 years, and this marks the second time the company has been awarded this certification.
“We are delighted to have once again earned Vet-VIPPS certification, which helps to set us apart from many other pharmacies due to the strict requirements we have successfully met,” stated Michael Blaire, CEO of Diamondback Drugs. “With this accreditation, the NABP has recognized our efforts to achieve and maintain the highest standards of quality in our pharmacy operations. We trust that our valued customers will view this with an added level of confidence when they see that we have the Vet-VIPPS seal,” he added.
The Vet-VIPPS seal will be prominently displayed on the company’s website, http://www.diamondbackdrugs.com, and its on-line e-prescribe portal, http://www.vetprescriber.com. The seal is a key benchmark for consumers to measure a pharmacy’s practice to access verified information about the pharmacy. By clicking on the Vet-VIPPS seal, people will be able to access independently verified information about Diamondback Drugs.
Diamondback Drugs: Achieving the Highest Industry Standards
In order to secure Vet-VIPPS accreditation, applicants must adhere to rigorous quality standards, validate current and correct licensure, and submit to an on-site inspection conducted by the NABP. Diamondback Drugs successfully completed the accreditation process by demonstrating the professional operations of the pharmacy, including the maintenance of policies and procedures that protect the veterinarian-client-patient relationship, and ensure the appropriate handling of prescription medications while delivering quality pharmacy practices.
Once a veterinary pharmacy has been approved by the NABP for Vet-VIPPS status, the firm is subject to annual reviews and a triennial reaccreditation and survey process. In addition, participant pharmacies may be required to review and resubmit policies and procedures to maintain compliance if the scope of the business changes.
