2016 Environmental Respect Award, Ambassador of Respect, Asia Pacific Region Announced
Willoughby, OH (PRWEB) August 19, 2016 -- Fengtian Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., is one of four agricultural companies named an “Ambassador of Respect” for the 2016 Environmental Respect Awards. The company was selected in April during an event involving global environmental and agricultural experts from around the world. Ambassadors were also named for Europe/Middle East/Africa, North America, and Latin America.
Fengtian Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. of China received its award during a special ceremony at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, DE, (USA) last week.
“DuPont is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2016 Environmental Respect Awards and applauds their accomplishment in environmental stewardship,” said Tim Glenn, president, DuPont Crop Protection. “These leaders are helping to advance environmental safety as well as the safe use of agricultural products. We hope they will inspire others who share our passion and commitment to elevate environmental stewardship around the world.”
Located in Dengta, Liaoning province, China, Fengtian Agricultural Development Co. views environmental stewardship as a virtue, a responsibility all humans have to protect their natural surroundings.
“We need to care for the environment and to keep the balance of nature to create a good habitat for ourselves,” says Jing Li, general manager. “For our firm, sustainable growth is based on environmental protection and social responsibility. It is part of our long-term business success.”
Fengtian Agricultural teaches local farmers how to select and apply pesticides, while at the same time improving their awareness of environmental protection issues through community programs, including taking the lead in a waste pesticide packaging collection campaign in Liaoning province that collected more than 30,000 items of waste packaging for incineration.
The Environmental Respect Awards, sponsored by DuPont Crop Protection, CropLife® magazine and AgriBusiness Global® magazine, honor outstanding environmental stewardship among those who supply farmers with inputs crucial to safe and effective crop production around the world. These winners exemplify environmental care in areas of security, risk management, product handling and use, worker safety, and education and outreach to their communities.
2016 marks the program’s 26th year honoring the stewardship, sustainability, safety, and community outreach efforts of the world’s leading agricultural retailers and distributors. In all, 15 companies were recognized with regional awards for their commitment to environmental stewardship efforts. Ambassadors received special honors as the best of the best in their respective regions.
For 16 years, Paul Schrimpf, Group Editor of CropLife and AgriBusiness Global magazines has led in the program’s judging process and development.
“It’s through the conscientious efforts of these ag businesses and the crop producers they serve that the world is assured of a safe and bountiful food supply,” said Schrimpf. “We’re delighted to be able to gain them some recognition for their environmentalism.”
