Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art Announces New Hire
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (PRWEB) August 22, 2016 -- Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Tony Glamcevski as its new Director of Food & Beverages, and Special Events. Glamcevski (pronounced “glam-chev-ski”) most recently served as the General Manager and Partner of the Rieger Hotel Grill and Exchange in Kansas City. He begins work at the Kemper Museum on Monday, August 22.
As a member of the Museum’s leadership team of directors, Glamcevski will guide the Kemper’s jewel of a restaurant, Café Sebastienne, and provide administrative direction toward the continued successes of the Museum’s award-winning Special Events staff. Café Sebastienne Executive Chef Jennifer Maloney said, “I’m so excited to work with such an innovative and detailed professional. The staff is looking forward to doing wonderful work with Tony.”
Glamcevski is at the forefront of Kansas City's locavore movement and burgeoning food scene. Raised in an upstate New York community with deep roots in Central Europe, Tony’s upbringing was marked by an Old World respect for local ingredients prepared with high regard for all things genuine, timeless, and satisfying. Frequent trips to his family’s native Macedonia—where “eating locally” wasn’t a movement, but a simple fact of life—underscored not only the importance of what was brought to the table, but the spirit in which it was shared.
"I am honored to accept this position with the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art," says Glamcevski. "I feel this is the culmination of my life's work and experiences in the hospitality industry. I look forward to our collective growth and development as we usher in a new era of hospitality, leadership and creativity to Cafe Sebastienne and Special Events."
Tony developed his passion for restaurants while attending Columbia University and living in New York City where he worked for Cynthia Sestito’s Webb City Bar and Grill in Bridgehampton, New York, the famed Jim McMullen’s and Annie’s on the Upper East Side and eventually Lidia Bastianich, who hired him to open her widely acclaimed Lidia’s Kansas City. In Kansas City, Glamcevski has played a leading role at Le Fou Frog, Green Dirt Farm, and the afore mentioned Rieger Hotel Grill and Exchange. One constant in every step of Glamcevski’s twenty-year career has been his commitment to community and a dedication to maintaining a reputation built on quality, service and uncompromising ethics.
