OneWorld Memorials Outperforms Two Year Anniversary Sales Forecast
Saint Paul, Minnesota (PRWEB) August 23, 2016 -- On August 17, 2016, ecommerce cremation urns and memorials retailer, OneWorld Memorials, celebrated its second year online providing urns, cremation jewelry, and sympathy gifts. When July financials were completed it showed that its second year online resulted in unexpected growth. Revenue targets were crushed.
OneWorld Memorials launched its website in August 2014. In its first year online, the company’s sales rose quickly, showing more than a 95% month over month growth. Year two proved to be more successful than the projected doubling of sales, increasing revenue by 395% year over year, far exceeding expectations.
“I am really surprised at how strongly we’ve grown in this time period,” remarked Ira Woods, President of OneWorld Memorials. “It’s takes quite a bit of effort to gain visibility in ecommerce, especially in a somewhat crowded space such as memorials. I attribute a big part of our success to staying focused on our customers’ best interests, offering quality products and exceptional care. Our commitment towards outstanding service has been the cornerstone of our business. We have an amazing team here who all feel this down to their bones. They're the reason we continue to maintain a 5 star company rating.”
As is true in all aspects of the funeral industry, memorial product websites work with customers in various stages of grief. Woods brings personal insight to this challenge, having lost his spouse to cancer. It’s part of the reason he makes a point of regularly taking calls from customers. “Just the other day I took a call from a woman in Atlanta who was grief stricken while trying to find the right urn and plan a memorial service. She was a bit lost,” says Woods. “And my heart just went out to her. After telling me about her husband and the plans they had agreed to, we were able to talk through the options and choose the right product to honor him.”
While it’s not always easy, Woods finds satisfaction in providing support to his customers. “Sometimes it’s very difficult because it reminds me of my own experience of loss, so I know very well that the last thing most people want to do is be on a computer shopping when they’re in the throes of grief. Anything we can do to make the experience smoother and less stressful is what we are about.”
One significant area of growth this past year resulted from OneWorld Memorials' emphasis on customization, offering engraving and other personalized options. “Almost immediately upon implementing our engraving operation, this part of our business mushroomed, which didn’t surprise me,” says Woods. “Personalization has always been a big part of this industry going back thousands of years. Just look at the pyramids.”
Woods is once again forecasting doubling revenues in the coming year. With the ongoing increase in traffic, sales and inventory levels, OneWorld Memorials is having to move its operation to this Fall to a new location. The bigger facility will provide greater warehouse and office space to handle the current volume of activity and to support future growth.
“You have to be focused at where you want to be years from now,” says Woods. “To properly execute our plans we have to move quickly.”
