Sumo Brings Ground Pounding Entertainment to SF Japantown
Japantown, San Francisco, California (PRWEB) August 30, 2016 -- On Sunday, September 11 at 12pm, San Francisco’s Japantown will host the only free to the public Sumo exhibition in the country. Featuring the four-time World Sumo Champion, two-time World Sumo Champion and the heaviest Japanese Human in History, the two-time US Sumo Champion, and an African Sumo Champion will all descend on San Francisco to compete in a Sumo Champions Exhibition in Japantown’s Peace Plaza. The event is open to the public.
The four wrestlers that have been invited to compete in this exhibition by The Japan Center Malls and the Japantown Merchant’s Association, and in partnership with USA Sumo are:
Byamba, 6’1″, 370 lbs, 4-time World Sumo Champion
Yama, 6’4″, 600 lbs, 2-time World Sumo Champion. Heaviest Japanese human being in History!
Roy, 6’5″, 380 lbs, 2-time US Sumo Champion
Takeshi, 5’8″, 220 lbs. Japanese University Champion
The event will also include an Taiko performance by Japantown's Genryu Arts for our opening and intermission.
Different from other Bay Area sporting events anyone who has an interest in the sport, or just happens to be curious about the physical size of these modern-day warriors can actually meet them face-to-face. In addition to the live matches, two meet and greet sessions have been scheduled with one specifically geared toward children.
