Children of America’s Dynamic Learning Through Play Curriculum Comes to Jackson Heights, NY
Jackson Heights, NY (August 24, 2016) (PRWEB) August 29, 2016 -- Children of America, announces its newest school in Jackson Heights, NY is open. Located at 87-10 Northern Blvd., Jackson Heights, NY 11372, the new school is a 12,500 sq. ft. facility that can host over 200 children, and has a state of the art rooftop playground with a soft turf surface for safer play.
At the helm, with a Master’s degree in Education, is school Director Juana Vega. As a former elementary school principle, Ms. Vega understands the importance of quality child care, and will use her background in education and leadership to bring a distinct set of skills and strengths to the new school serving Jackson Heights and surrounding communities.
“Because of my extensive educational background, I’ve seen evidence that children thrive in elementary school and beyond if they have received a good educational foundation in preschool. The Children of America school system was the perfect choice for me as it fits into my educational philosophy,” said Director, Juana Vega. “We’re excited and confident that the Jackson Heights community will embrace the school’s unique curriculum and educational programs.”
The Children of America preschool system prides itself on its own brand of proprietary educational programming, a distinguisher in the early childhood education industry. The COA Mind & Body Matters is comprised of four key components, working in conjunction, to support the fundamental belief that parents and educators play a crucial role in helping children develop a willingness to learn, a love of the written word, healthy eating habits and a healthy respect for physical fitness.
The COA Mind & Body Matters program consists of:
- COA Star Curriculum
COA uses positive daily experiences to create an environment in which children are encouraged to explore actively using all of their senses. Our curriculum works in the framework of structure, yet within that structure a planned syllabus is followed giving children a sense of security all within an advanced learning environment.
- Just Read Program
Using the beloved “Bentley” the lovable Jack Russell Terrier mascot, COA designs a bi-monthly book, which helps to encourage parents to spend at least 15-minutes a day reading with their child. All books can be accessed online via any computer, smartphone or tablet.
- An Apple A Day Nutrition Program
This program encourages a healthy diet inside and outside the classroom. Children of America’s registered dietitian plans on-campus meals while sharing nutritional tips and healthy recipes on the “An Apple a Day” blog for families at home to share.
- Presidential Fitness Program
This program helps to facilitate the idea that when started early in life "Physical Fitness" can become a healthy part of every child's life.
“With more than 18 years of experience in early childhood education, the Children of America programming creates eager learners in our little ones, for a better and more productive educational future,” said Jim Perretty, Chief Executive Officer. “This area truly sets us apart from other childcare systems. Our philosophy in education is designed to teach and reinforce 21st century skills, including communication, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. We believe with this approach; children can foster a lifelong love of learning.”
As an additional value, Children of America advocates the belief that it is important to utilize the newest in technology to create lines of communication between the parent and school and bring the latest in teaching techniques to the children we serve. COA utilizes the latest in technology tools for security measures, family communication and learning opportunities.
