Wilcox Joins PDQ Manufacturing as VP-Government Sales
Leola, Pa. (PRWEB) August 29, 2016 -- Gerald Wilcox has joined PDQ Manufacturing, Leola, Pa., as Vice President of Government Sales.
In this newly created executive post, Wilcox is responsible for all sales related to PDQ’s AbilityOne® mandatory use program, part of a federal initiative that creates jobs for people who are blind or have other significant disabilities. Additionally, he will be responsible for coordinating sales through state use programs throughout the country. Many states currently have programs similar to the federal initiative.
As an AbilityOne Enterprise Partner of the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), PDQ SKILCRAFT® offers a full line of door and security hardware assembled by people who are blind. All of the products carry the PDQ SKILCRAFT® co-brand, which stands for quality products made by people who are blind. SKILCRAFT® is a registered trademark owned and licensed by NIB, the nation’s largest employment resource for people who are blind. Under the new partnership, PDQ supplies components, and the finished products are assembled by people who are blind employed by VisionCorps of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. VisionCorps is an NIB-associated non-profit agency dedicated to provide employment for people who are blind or have other disabilities. Products identified on the AbilityOne Procurement List are mandatory source purchases for federal agencies and contractors performing services at federally controlled and managed facilities.
Wilcox is working with federal contracting officers and architects to assist them in specifying and using these products on government projects.
From an early age, Wilcox has been employed in a wide variety of positions in the construction trades. Most recently he worked with Architectural Resources of Greenbelt, Md., an independent firm serving as consultant and writing specifications for architects.
