New Event Series Targets Seattle’s Growing Millennial Population
Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- Millennial Week, an innovative event series for young professionals founded in the nation’s capital, will come to Seattle on September 15-16, 2016. Ranked as one of the top four most popular cities for millennials, Seattle will host several events designed to explore and celebrate millennials’ impact on business, culture and society.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, millennials have surpassed Baby Boomers as the nation's largest living generation. As such, their importance and influence is on the rise as they continue to become breadwinners, leaders and rising stars of the nation’s economy.
“We are a diverse group of driven, tech-savvy, community-minded Americans that are making big waves in society by swaying elections, disrupting industries and reshaping America’s cities,” said Natalie M. Moss, director & founder, Millennial Week. “Millennial Week events focus on the impact of millennials on culture, enterprise and society; the events cultivate, promote and share the most meaningful ideas and trends from this community of 18 to 35 year olds.”
The events are created by millennials, for a millennial audience and are uniquely designed to engage and inspire. The content will focus primarily on the impact of the generation in multiple areas, including society, civic engagement and entrepreneurship. Attendees will gain a wealth of information and connections by attending the Millennial Townhall and the Startup Lounge. Both events will be led by millennial leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators.
Millennial TownHall – Millennials are disrupting industries and reshaping major brands, but still face a number of financial challenges blocking their path to the American dream. Millennial thought leaders and innovators will hold an interactive discussion on financial challenges, entrepreneurship and other common goals of this generation. The Millennial Townhall, sponsored by Prudential, will be held on Thursday, September 15, 6 p.m., at Impact Hub Seattle, 220 2nd Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104.
Startup Lounge – Sponsored by Wells Fargo, the Startup Lounge will provide an environment for both budding and established millennial entrepreneurs to strategize, network and pitch new ideas. Attendees will gain access to speak with financial advisors and experts one-on-one for advice on concept & business development, banking & funding as well as marketing & advertising. The Startup Lounge will be held on Friday, September 16, 6 p.m., at the Sole Repair Shop, 1001 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122.
“Population reports confirm millennials are flocking to Seattle due to its growing, well-paid industries,” said Moss. “As such, we wanted to reach these millennials through our expansion of the popular DC based Millennial Week event series.”
The Seattle event series expands upon the success of Millennial Week DC, created in 2013 to begin a genuine dialogue about what inspires, shapes and drives the city’s millennial population. The event series celebrates the contribution and influence of millennials in entrepreneurship, politics, philanthropy, society and culture. The third annual Millennial Week DC will be held October 9-15, 2016.
