Venuetize, a contextually-aware mobile-first platform as a service that specializes in third party integrations and location-detection technologies, today announced it has acquired the intellectual property assets of eMbience, Inc., a leading mobile software developer with expertise in proximity marketing and targeted advertising capabilities. eMbience is a long-term, trusted developer in sports and entertainment, building mobile solutions on its cross-platform framework for some of the largest sports teams and entertainment brands, including the NFL for Super Bowl XLIX and NFL Draft Days, the Miami Dolphins, Bravo TV, Verizon, and Qualcomm, among others.

“Mobile engagement to enhance patron experiences, driveway to driveway for live venues, is now a core component of any second screen strategy for entertainment districts, professional sports teams, stadiums and arenas, and advertisers,” said Jon Romm, CEO of Venuetize. “Given Venuetize’s emphasis on a mobile-first strategy, it only made sense for us to target a leading player in this space as part of our aggregation and roll-up strategy. We are always looking for accretive deals that grow value to our shareholders.”

Nimish Shrivastava, CEO of eMbience, said: “I am thrilled to join Venuetize. We are now even better positioned to expand our capabilities with a wider suite of mobile services and proximity-based solutions.”

The acquisition, which includes eMbience’s sports and venue mobile platform as well as its eM Cards proximity platform, will immediately expand both the near- and long-term growth opportunities for Venuetize’s business and accelerates the growth of its integrated ecosystem of interoperable, live venue solutions.

Shrivastava assumes the role of Chief Technology Officer for Venuetize.
