Kidliga® Partners with Function Junction™ and Donates to the Children’s Center for Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition During National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month
Kansas City, Missouri (PRWEB) August 31, 2016 -- In light of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month this September, Livliga®, a patented line of portion control dinnerware, will partner with Function Junction™, a well-known retailer in Kansas City, MO, to help combat the growing epidemic which affects approximately 12.5 million children in the United States. Livliga’s children’s brand, Kidliga®, will raise funds in support of this cause, with 10% of all sales being donated to the Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition (CCHLN) throughout September. Through the partnership, Livliga, will also provide unique news and information surrounding healthy eating for families including a new e-book, recipes, cooking demonstrations at Function Junction and giveaways, all in support of the fight against childhood obesity.
Through Kidliga, which features child-friendly plates, bowls and mugs, and an award-winning children’s book, entitled Sammie & Sax in the Land of Quinoa: The Search for a Balanced Meal, kids are introduced to the concept of healthy, balanced eating. The complete product line helps to educate and engage families in an interactive experience through visually intuitive dishware and the nutritionally-focused adventure book. Kidliga is a primary tool in Livliga’s overall mission to promote children’s health. Through their partnership with Function Junction, Livliga’s goal is to provide a hands-on experience to kids and their families about how fun and easy it is for kids to cook, what just right portions look like and ways to embrace healthy eating habits. In addition to the Kid Chefs Cooking Classes being offered in September at Function Junction, Kidliga is also available for purchase at this gourmet retail store at Crown Center.
Founder and CEO of Livliga®, native Kansas Citian, and former Executive Director of the American Heart Association in Denver, CO, Sheila Kemper Dietrich states, “We are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Function Junction to help Kansas City’s kids be healthier. We are so pleased to have this well-known and loved retailer now carrying Kidliga and offering the Kid Chefs Cooking Classes in September that we have jointly developed to engage children in a fun way to learn about healthy ways to cook and eat.”
