RBMA U Releases First Full Course, Offers CEU
Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) August 31, 2016 -- Earning continuing education unit (CEU) credits is a requirement for many radiology professions. As part of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) mission to expand education and leadership development in the business of radiology, RBMA has long offered such credits at its annual conferences. Now this educational need can also be met online through RBMA U, the association’s newest learning resource.
The first full course to be released under RBMA U is Radiology Business 101. It covers eight modules based on the domains developed for the RBMA Common Body of Knowledge and is taught by a faculty of leading industry experts.
“We actually did a soft launch of RBMA U two years ago,” explained Carol Hamilton, MBA, SHRM-SCP, FACMPE, chief administrative officer or West County Radiological Group, Inc., in St. Louis, Mo., and chair of the RBMA’s Educational Materials and Products Committee. “Students could sign up for individual classes as we added them to the program. Now we have reached the stage where we have a full degree program’s worth of classes.”
To earn an RBMA U degree, students must complete four required courses and one elective courses in each of the eight modules. These are.
1. Governance
2. Financial Management
3. Quality, Compliance and Risk Management
4. Human Resources Management
5. Operations Management
6. Information Management
7. Leadership
8. Marketing and Business Development
Students may sign up for individual courses or commit to the entire program for a discounted rate. Those who complete the entire program of 40 courses will graduate with an engraved plaque, a free conference registration for the RBMA’s Paradigm annual conference and be considered for an additional scholarship to cover travel costs.
Organizations accepting continuing education unit (CEU) for select RBMA U courses include the American College of Radiology’s Radiology Leadership Institute. Category A Continuing Education (CE) credit and National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit opportunities will be added to courses as they are certified. All courses may qualify for CEU credits necessary to apply for the RBMA’s own RBMA Fellow credential.
“Today’s RBMA members need high-quality education that fits their lives,” Hamilton said. “In particular, high-quality online education, such as what is offered through the RBMA U’s Radiology Business 101 course, allows younger professionals and those balancing work and family to access career advancing education on their terms. While there is nothing quite like the in-person learning that occurs at RBMA conferences, we are dedicated to offering our members the full spectrum of educational opportunities in today’s digital age.”
RBMA U’s faculty includes 35 leading experts and continues to grow as course offerings expand. Both the full Radiology Business 101 course and individual classes are available for purchase on the RBMA website — Shop RBMA.
