The US-EU Privacy Shield’s primary goal is to offer assurances and security when data is transmitting between international borders and the EU. In summary, to be approved for Privacy Shield, the changes to a company’s privacy policy must be crafted to focus on how the digital data is collected, used, safeguarded, transferred, as well as how disputes are handled. Once approved by the Department of Commerce, the company’s name is officially recognized on their website list. doeLEGAL’s addition instills both credibility and confidence that international transmissions of client data and web visitor data are safe and secure. This was an imperative step to take in doeLEGAL’s eyes to ensure their foreign EU partners and clients have the confidence that their data security is a business-critical priority. The US-EU Privacy Shield finalized requirements all companies must meet can be found on the US Department of Commerce website.
