There is a lot of excitement surrounding USA Water Ski Foundation’s initiative to create a world class water sports complex within Auburndale’s Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. An official groundbreaking ceremony is set for Wednesday September 28th.
The multi-million dollar water sports complex, which includes the Elite Cable Park, operated by world renowned Aktion Parks; three tournament ski lakes; a new headquarters for the Foundation, USA Water Ski, the Water Ski Hall of Fame & Museum and a waterfront café will bring a whole new “on the water” dimension to the sports park.
New events and water sports are expected to fill the center with plenty of action. The center is also expected to bring more business to the city.
“I am so proud of the partnership that has formed between the Foundation and the City of Auburndale and am so pleased that the USA Water Ski Foundation has chosen to relocate their expanded facility to the City of Auburndale and the Lake Myrtle Park,” said City Manager Bobby Green. “We are looking forward to working further with them on their expansion and look forward to the groundbreaking.”
